Skandamata

Rising a lion as Her chosen vehicle, She holds Her son skanda on her lap. She displays three eyes and four hands; two hands holds lotuses while the other two hand display defending and granting mudras, respectively. Its said, by the merch of Skandmata, even the fool becomes an ocean of knowledge. The Legendary Sanskrit Scholar Kalidas - "India's Shakespeare" - created his two masterpieces, "Raghuvansh Maha Kavy" and "Meghdoot" by Skandmata's grace !

Skanda Mata : The Power of Transformation

Skanda Mata which also means The Mother of Skanda. Skanda is a deity of fire.

As Skandamata, she undergoes yet another great transformation as she turn from a wife to a mother. It is said that a mother who guarded her children's life are more dangerous than any army. I have witness how A Mother who is about to loose her child to terminal cancer, would do anything just to bring her child back alive. What I learnt from this experience is The Spirit of A Mother is much deeper, stronger and full of dynamism, like a fire.

This great transformation does not only occur psychologically but physically. Even the structure of your bones change too. If you take a skeleton of two women, an expert would be able to differentiate a skeleton of women who have given birth from that of another who have not.

Skandamata is the power that change you. Transform you internally and externally that you are never the same again, coupled with the birth of this fire or desire or passion that propels you towards divinity.
